The 2025 Clearwater softball team finished fourth at the 4A Tournament and ended the season with a 25-6 record. Returning first team all-league outfielder Taylor Nielson is looking forward to seeing what the Indians have in store this year.
“I am excited to see how far our team will go this year and creating all the new memories for my last year with these girls,” Nielson said.
Last season, Nielson hit .442 with an on-base percentage of .500. She also hit five home runs and drove in 23 runs.
While those numbers are impressive, Nielson has her sights set on even better statistics this season.
“I want to work on speed in the outfield and strengthening my arm a little more,” Nielson said. “I’ve done some workouts that focus on those things.”
Nielson has lofty goals for herself and for the Clearwater softball team in 2026.
“For my senior season, my goal as a team is to make it to state and have an undefeated season up until state,” Nielson said. “Individually I want to make first team all-state for a second time and have a 1.000 fielding percentage.”
