Eisenhower’s Luke Springer – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Alexandria Johnson Shelter Insurance

Eisenhower senior golfer Luke Springer is focused on making the most of his final high school season while helping lead a team built to contend for a state championship.

“My main focus this year is to enjoy the last year of high school golf,” Springer said. “The seniors on our team just want to be good examples to the rest of the team. I’ve been taking one tournament at a time, and I try to help my team out as much as possible.”

Springer has also leaned heavily on the mental side of his game, which he says has been one of his biggest strengths throughout his career.

“My strength is my mental game,” he said. “I have always been pretty calm even when things don’t go my way.”

As he has grown into a leadership role, Springer said one of his main goals this season was to improve consistency, particularly off the tee and with wedge shots. He credited targeted practice and smarter course management for helping him take steps forward.

“The main thing I wanted to improve on was being more consistent off the tee, and also with wedge shots,” Springer said. “I’ve really worked on picking my spot in the fairway to help hit more fairways.”

Eisenhower has emerged as one of the top programs in the state, finishing third in 2023 and 2024 before placing second in 2025. Springer said the team’s expectations have only grown.

“Our team’s goal is to win state,” he said. “We have six really good players that can go low.”

As his high school career winds down, Springer said his focus remains simple: enjoy the moment and compete for a championship with his teammates.
