Wellington’s Aleena Rinehart – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by McComb Consulting Inc

Wellington High School junior Aleena Rinehart has built a reputation as one of the school’s most dedicated spirit leaders, balancing cheer and dance with a busy slate of academics, service and faith. A member of both the cheer and dance teams, she has emerged as a steady presence on the sidelines and at halftime, where some of her favorite memories have been made performing with her teammates and energizing the home crowd.

Rinehart’s talent has been recognized on some of the biggest summer stages. She is a two-time All-American honoree at UCA camp in 2023 and 2025 and earned All-American honors at UDA camp in 2025, prestigious selections that highlight her skill, consistency and leadership among her peers. She said her sport has taught her resilience and how to lead, lessons she leans on daily in the classroom, in competition and in life beyond school.

That growth has been supported by people around her. Rinehart credits teacher Mr. Ginter as a favorite because he pairs academics with lessons in responsibility and practical knowledge students can use outside of school. She points to teammate Blair Daugherty as someone who has made a lasting impact, describing her as kindhearted and encouraging, always pushing her to try even when she does not feel like it.

Away from the gym, Rinehart stays busy in her community. She is involved in National Honor Society, student council, SCCDAT and BPA, and she is an active member of St. Anthony/St. Rose Catholic Church. When she gets time to relax, she enjoys visiting local Mexican restaurants in her hometown, especially Fabiola’s, which she calls a go-to for top-notch queso and consistently good food.

Rinehart said the best advice she has received is to keep going when life gets difficult because things worth having rarely come easy. She especially wants to thank her mom and sister for their unconditional love and support, saying she would not be the person she is today without them.
