Wichita Northwest’s Tasean Williams – Athlete Spotlight Presented By Shelter Insurance, Shari Lewis

Last season, Wichita Northwest’s Tasean Williams was one of the leading scorers in the City League, averaging nearly 19 points per game.

Williams knows he can score, but he now wants to prove he can be more than just a scorer.

“One area I want to improve in this year is being able to control the game’s pace and limit my turnovers,” Williams said. “While also being the best leader I can to help my team be successful.”

Throughout the offseason, Williams knew he must increase his strength and quickness.

“During the offseason I have been trying to get stronger and more agile doing plyometrics and lifting weights,” Williams said. “While also playing as many AAU games as possible at a high level.”

Williams has lofty goals for himself, as well as the Grizzlies this season.

“Some goals I have this year is to be in the top three in the GWAL for points, assists, and steals including making first team all-city and all-state,” Williams said. “Some team goals I have is for us to win sub-state championship and win mid-season tournament. I’m most excited this season for the bonds and memories that I’m going to create with my teammates and coaches.”
