Argonia-Attica’s Carson Vineyard – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Visit Salina

By Cooper Chadwick

Argonia-Attica senior Carson Vineyard is a standout athlete for the Titans, and the one thing his head coach attributes that to is his effort.

“Carson is a hard worker in the weightroom and on the field and court. He is a three to four sport athlete that excels in football, basketball, baseball and some years track,”  head coach Luke Greenwood said.

Vineyard plays running back, linebacker and special teams for the Titans. Last year he was a force on both sides of the ball, racking up 1,089 rushing yards, 310 receiving and 156 total points. Along with 107 tackles, three interceptions and seven pass deflections.

As a senior for the Titans, Vineyard’s role on the team is team captain.

“My team goal for this season is to just improve day by day. My personal goal is to dedicate myself fully, giving 110 percent effort each day,” Vineyard said.

During the summer Vineyard spent a lot of his time out on the field, just improving his game.

“I have been going to summer weights and the football camp to get ready for this upcoming season. This year, I am mainly focusing on improving my agility,” Vineyard said.

Since this is Vineyard’s final year, he is excited to give it his all and leave everything on the field.

“I am most excited for this upcoming season to build new connections with the underclassmen and get to see how our team chemistry changes throughout the season,” Vineyard said. “My main source of motivation is just the pure love for the game and knowing it’s my last year to compete in the sport I love most.”
