Wichita Southeast’s Maxwell Case – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Advantage Marketing

By Matt Browning

Every year Wichita Southeast’s Maxwell Case has bowled for the Buffaloes, he has learned something valuable from his teammates and he is hoping this season is no different.

“The people around me are awesome and will make the season so much more enjoyable,” Case said. “I hope this year we all make it to state, but I’m really just going to focus on the people around me and have as much fun as I can.”

It was all bowling all of the time for Case throughout the offseason.

“I have been training all summer for the season,” Johansen said. “I went to WSU camp for my fourth time to learn even more from Coach Lewis and his staff. I also went to Junior Gold for the experience and to learn how to perform in a national competition. I practice every week with USBC Great Plains Hall of Fame Coach Mark Johansson to get better as well.”

Being able to mentally tough is what Case admits is what he needs to improve on. He feels like the physical traits are there.

“I have started to take the game as a job instead of just having fun, so this year I want to have as much fun as possible and stop being so hard on myself for the little things,” Case said. “During the offseason I did take a few weeks off to reset my mental state, since I have been doing this sport for five years straight.”
