Maize South’s Stratten Ebers – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Advanced Physical Therapy

Maize South junior Stratten Ebers has emerged as one of the most dynamic and versatile receivers in Kansas.

“Stratten is a talented player who can fit into several positions offensively,” head coach Brent Pfeifer said. “He catches the ball really well in tight spaces and is talented at getting extra yards after the catch. He’s also a very good multi-sport athlete who plays significant minutes for our basketball team as well. He’s a good teammate who puts in countless hours year-round, getting extra reps on the football field and in the gym. He has a high ceiling and will no doubt have an exciting senior year for Maize South.”

Stratten’s 2024 season was one of the best in the state. In just nine games, he recorded 75 receptions which was number one in Kansas along with 12 touchdowns which was first in the AVCTL with 831 receiving yards as well.

“My biggest strengths are route running and catching the ball in traffic,” Ebers said. “My personal goal was to be a top receiver in the state, and I feel like I accomplished that. Our team goal was to win state, and even though we didn’t reach it, I’m proud of the season we had.”

Ebers’ versatility, paired with his competitive edge, sets him apart.

“I think on our team I was an energy guy,” Ebers said. “I made sure everyone was locked in, gave props to people, and kept the team from getting stagnant.”

The junior is beginning to draw college attention, with several schools reaching out and an early visit to William Jewell.

“I do want to play at the next level,” the junior said. “I haven’t fully put my name out yet, but I’m excited for what’s coming. “It’s really great to be recognized and get this opportunity. I think all the pressure is mental, so I just give it all to God to handle.”
