Halstead’s Braxton Creed – Poll Winner Presented By WSU Tech

Halstead’s Braxton Creed is back and better than ever for the Dragons. Last season, Creed was a first team all-league selection, and he plans on adding onto his accolades this season.

To prepare for the season, Creed trained to better his strengths and weaknesses.

“Personally, I worked on handling the ball better with less turnovers and being more affected when I got to my spots,” Creed said. “I played for the Wichita Padres over the summer and got to travel around and play in some bigger tournaments in my area with better competition.”

Creed’s biggest goals for the team are to make a deep run in the postseason, not only for himself but for all the fans that cheer the team on along the way.

“One of the main goals for our team is to make a run in substate and to be over .500,” Creed said. “Since I’ve been in high school we haven’t made it past the first round of substate and I think that’d be huge for our team and community.”

Creed has always been an offensive threat on the court, as his favorite basketball memory happens to be when he led the team in points.

“My favorite memory in high school so far was when I had 42 of our team’s 53 points in the Rupp tournament,” Creed said.

Also playing football, Creed has options as to what sport he wants to play at the next level after high school.

“I haven’t decided what sport I wanna play after high school and I’ll have a big decision to make over the next year,” Creed said.
