Aleah Moree, a Winfield basketball player, was a first team all-league player last season, and returns for the Vikings this year. The six-foot senior is excited for the upcoming season and is ready to take the court with her teammates.

“I am excited for my senior season and I believe our team is going to have a great year,” Moree said.

Over the offseason, Moree worked to strengthen her game, and it started in the gym focusing on her weaknesses, particularly her skills on the perimeter.

“I prepared for the season by prioritizing work on my weaknesses, particularly my handles,” Moree said.

With individual goals in mind, like being a better scorer, Moree is excited to see her team work together to be the best they can be for the upcoming season.

“One of my main goals this year is to finish higher in our division as a team, as well as increase my free throw percentage,” Moree said.

Now a senior, Moree looked back on her basketball years as a Viking and knew the exact memory she would forever remember.

“My favorite basketball memory was winning the Mulvane Tournament with my team freshman year,” Moree said.

Still undecided as to where, Moree does hope to continue playing the sport she loves, while also furthering her education.

“I plan to attend community college somewhere to obtain a broadcasting degree and continue my basketball career,” Moree said.
