After being a part of the 4A state championship team last season for Andover Central, Max McDaniel knew the team had a lot to do during the offseason to make another comeback.

“The part of the season we were preparing for is just the guys coming in and all the spots we filled and the senior class that was here last year and just filling in those positions,” McDaniel said.

Although a repeat is in the back of everyone’s minds, McDaniel’s biggest goals are to enjoy the moment and put it all out on the field.

“I think the goal this year for me was to take advantage of every opportunity to get better with my teammates,” McDaniel said. “Also just to get better every day with the team and just work. I’m really excited for all the games and just playing with everyone around me, also just taking in all the moments and just enjoying the sport.”

With such an exciting season ending last year, McDaniel is taking in the feeling and applying it to another up and coming 2025 season.

“Most memorable for me was definitely winning the state title over Bishop Miege,” McDaniel said. “It was really fun to have accomplished that as a team and was fun to celebrate with all of them.”
