Andover Central’s Tori Williams – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Jodi Ocadiz Shelter Insurance

Despite being a second team all-league goalkeeper last season, Andover Central’s Tori Williams struggled with her confidence—an area she wanted to improve heading into this year.

“In my offseason I had an opportunity to train with a women’s league team here in Wichita over the summer and this helped me gain back my confidence after a tough high school season ending,” Williams said. “I also played with a club team for a little while, but I stepped away because I felt burnout and wanted to have some time away to free up my mind and be refreshed before my senior season with Andover Central.”

Williams said she hopes to make her senior season a memorable one.

“All the years that I have been with this team we have made it far into the postseason, and we have had chances at state and even making school history that were unfortunately cut short,” Williams said. “I think we have a great chance this season to accomplish that from what I have seen from our girls so far.”

Williams said her strengths include communication, physical strength, mental strength and her love for the game.

“These are used for my team so I can play my best and be a big support factor, especially as a goalkeeper it is important to be confident in my abilities and show up for my team,” Williams said.
