Jaxson Wilder is a senior at Haven High School who has become a dependable presence in the outfield and a key contributor to his team’s success. As he enters his final season, Wilder is most excited to see how the underclassmen step up after the graduation of a large senior class.
Throughout the offseason, Wilder kept his preparation simple and focused. He spent a lot of time in the batting cages, working to stay sharp and improve his swing. That extra work reflects his mindset heading into the season, as one of his biggest personal priorities is improving his consistency at the plate. Cutting down on strikeouts and becoming a more reliable hitter are goals he has set for himself, knowing that consistency can make a major impact during close games.
Wilder’s individual goals for the season include earning All-League and All-State honors. He already has strong credentials to build on, finishing last season with a .352 batting average, 32 hits, and 26 RBIs. He was also recognized for his defensive play by earning CKL Second Team Outfield honors, highlighting his value on both sides of the ball. As a team, his biggest goal is to finally get over the hump and make it to the state tournament, a milestone he knows Haven has been working toward.
Outside of baseball, Wilder also participates in football, showing his versatility as a multi-sport athlete. After high school, he plans to continue his education at HCC before transferring to a four-year university to pursue a degree in sports management, keeping his passion for athletics central to his future.
