Haven’s Trista Rogers – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by PrairieStar Health Center

By Angela Brunk

Trista Rogers, a senior at Haven High School, has established herself as a fierce competitor in the 155lbs girl’s wrestling weight class. With clear goals set for her final season, Rogers’ personal aim is to achieve 40 wins, fewer than 7 losses, and, most importantly, to claim the win at the state championship. As for her team, she is determined to help the girls’ wrestling team secure a spot on the podium at state as well.

Looking ahead, Rodgers is excited about regionals and state, which she sees as both a challenge and an opportunity to showcase her skills. With tough competition ahead, Rogers is eager to see how she performs.

In preparation for this season, Rogers stayed dedicated throughout the offseason, attending the wrestling camp hosted by her team and committing to intense workouts over the summer. Her hard work has already paid off in previous seasons. Rogers’ most memorable achievement so far was winning regionals last year and placing 3rd at state. One of the highlights of her career was overcoming a tough opponent she had previously lost to three times, finally defeating her in the finals at regionals and the state consolation semifinals.

In addition to wrestling, Rogers excels in academics and extracurricular activities. She plans to continue her education and athletic career at Barton Community College, where she will major in Radiology while also pursuing softball. Outside of wrestling, Rogers plays volleyball and is actively involved in KAYS, Rise Up Reno, and serves as the President of StuCo. With a strong work ethic and leadership abilities, Rogers has a bright future ahead both on and off the mat.
