Kapaun Mt. Carmel’s Cal Purvis – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Hog Wild Pit BBQ

Making a deep playoff run last year set the standards high for Kapaun Mt. Carmel, and Cal Purvis is excited to show off what he and the team have been putting together during the offseason.

“With my senior season coming up I have been putting in work every day trying to improve my physical abilities and mental abilities,” Purvis said. “Working out every day and training while also watching film and getting better with the mental side of football.”

One of Purvis’s biggest goals is to make it all the way through postseason play, and add in some hardware to the school’s history.

“My main goal is the team winning a state championship,” Purvis said. “Bringing a ring back to the KMC family would mean everything and I’ll do everything in my power to achieve that.”

While looking to win a championship is exciting, Purvis knows he will see some tough competition along the way there.

“The main two games I am excited about are Northwest and St. James,” Purvis said. “Those will be two of the toughest games we play all year.” After high school Purvis plans to continue his academic and athletic
career at the next level.

“As of right now my plans are to attend the United States Air Force Academy,” Purvis said. “After football I want to pursue a career in business.
