Mulvane’s Koehn Dietrich – Athlete Spotlight Presented By Advanced Physical Therapy

As a sophomore in 2023, Mulvane’s Koehn Dietrich took sixth at the 4A wrestling tournament.

It was a really solid accomplishment in his second year of high school wrestling, but Dietrich knows that is just one step in the natural progression of his career.

“Individually, I hope to place in the top two at regionals and top four at state,” Dietrich said. “Along with placing at every tournament throughout the season.”

Dietrich, who went 34-9 with 23 pins a year ago, has a unique setup that helps him work on his skill and fundamentals throughout the offseason.

“I have a wrestling room at my house so the opportunity is always there to better myself,” Dietrich said. “My brother is a wrestler at Newman so I did a lot of rolling around with him and my dad. I did jujitsu this summer as well to keep me active and on the mat with my uncle and cousins to stay in shape.”

With his eyes already looking ahead to a potential college career, Dietrich is focused on improving one area this season.

“I want to improve my bottom game because I know in college, ride time can be a big factor in the outcome of matches,” Dietrich said. “During the off season, I drilled a lot with my dad and brother in our basement on different techniques to hopefully improve my explosiveness off the whistle.”
