Class 6A boys at Koch Arena

Championship: Olathe North 67, SM South 50 — Olathe North took a 7-0 lead to open the game and had built it to 21-6 early in the second quarter. SM South cut it to 30-25 in teh third quarter, but Olathe North went on an 8-0 run. Olathe North’s Cam Love made 8 of 11 shots and had 20 points, three steals. Sam Simmons had 13 points, seven rebounds and Thlik Deng had 12 points, 11 rebounds and six blocked shots. Josiah Roland hit 5 of 8 from three and had 16 points. SM South’s John Allen scored 12, Conor Kerrigan had 11 points and 10 rebounds, and Drake Debaun had four assists, seven rebounds.

Third place: Mill Valley 69, Wichita Heights 61 — Mill Valley opened the fourth quarter with a 15-2 run to take a lead it wouldn’t lose. Heights got within 58-53 and 68-61. Mill Valley was led by Reece Reidel, who made three threes, scored 21 points, had eight assists. Jakhai Carter had four threes, 17 points, five rebounds, and Dylan Everhart had eight rebounds, Gardy Larson five. Heights’ Jalihn Timmons was 6 of 12 from three and had a game-high 27 points, six rebounds and three steals. Jordan Timmons had 21 points, six rebounds and three assists. Jorelle Hadley had three steals, Tyson Phillips seven rebounds.

Class 6A girls at Koch Arena

Championship: SM South 57, BV Northwest 45 — SM South trailed by two at the half but as part of an 11-minute span over the second and third quarters, the Raiders went on a 24-8 run for the 38-27 lead. BV Northwest got within five at 38-33 and within six twice. But SM South’s Laila Berndt scored nine of the game’s final 12 points. Berndt led all scorers with 19 points and also had six rebounds. Eleni Jouras had six rebounds, and Elsie Slaven and Kylenna Potts each had five rebounds. Micah Kirkwood had four rebounds, four assists. BV Northwest was led by Rylie Edwards’ 10 points and seven rebounds. Regan Becker had 13 rebounds.

Class 5A boys at Koch Arena

Championship: Bonner Springs 53, Kapaun 50 — Kapaun had an 11-point lead midway through the third quarter, and then Bonner Springs just kept chipping away at that lead, getting to within 39-34 at the end of the third. Kapaun went up 46-38 on Jude Porter’s basket with 5:06 remaining, but Kelan Gruver answered with a three, one of four he made in the game, to cut the lead to 50-45. Then Prince-Davynn Donnell got an and-one, which Gruver followed with a three for the 51-50 lead with 1:40 to go. Gruver had 21 points, hitting 4 of 9 threes, and Donnell had four assists, Jaiden Jones nine rebounds and Nathanael Ferrell 12 points. Kapaun, which had won the last two 5A titles and 44 straight games, was led by Porter (11 points, 3 of 5 from three), Cole Rapp (15 points on 6-of-7 shooting), Blaise Dalian (10 pointis) and Rocco Keller (five assists).

Class 5A girls at Koch Arena

Championship: St. James 49, Hays 48 — With St. James leading 47-40, Hays’ Brynlee Rapp and Jenna Schmeidler each hit a three-pointer to get within 47-46 with 38 seconds to go. But St. James, up 49-46 after two Stella Sacks free throws, was able to keep Hays from getting a good look from three to tie. St. James’ Sacks, Ireland Sullivan and Teegan Vieti scored 11 points apiece. Elle Robinson had 10 points, three blocks, and Sullivan had five rebounds. Schmeidler led Hays with 17 points, Zoe Winter had 11 points, seven rebounds, and Molly Buckles had five rebounds.

Third place: Andover 71, Shawnee Heights 55 — In the first three quarters, there were nine ties and five lead changes. But Andover held Shawnee Heights to seven fourth-quarter points. Andover’s Bella Bouddhara, who had five points at the half, made 10 of 13 shots in the second half — 4 of 6 from three — to finish with a game-high 32 points. She also had five rebounds and three steals. Asiah Sullivan had 17 points, nine rebounds, eight steals, and Grier Hand had 14 points, Isabella Davis five rebounds. Shawnee Heights’ KK Emmot had 27 points, hitting 15 of 15 from the line, Samantha Baum eight rebounds, Imani McGlory five rebounds.

Class 4A boys at Hutchinson Sports Arena

Championship: Baldwin 66, Rock Creek 60 — Baldwin’s Leo Schoenberger scored 19 points on 6-of-9 shooting, Devyn Wadel 17 points, Cooper Carr had 13 points, six assists, Colton Collum 10 points, five rebounds. Rock Creek’s Porter Gill scored 16, and EthanTonsor scored 13, Logan Klingenberg had seven rebounds.

Third place: Hugoton 69, Atchison 53 — Hugoton’s Cameron Rosas made 10 of 13 from the field and had a game-high 24 points and nine rebounds. Miguel Hernandez scored 11 points and Hunter Garza had 10. Gavin Salazar had nine rebounds, 10 assists, and Adrian Adigun had six assists, four steals. Atchison’s Josiah Thompson scored 16 points, hitting all eight of his free throws, and Trey’Von Gillum had three threes, 15 points, Yogi Purdy 12 points, seven rebounds, four assists, four steals.

Class 4A girls at Hutchinson Sports Arena

Championship: Topeka Hayden 57, Bishop Miege 52 — Hayden built a 14-2 first-quarter lead, but was able to hold off Miege, which outscored Hayden 23-14 in the final quarter. Hayden’s Hailey Schmidtlein scored 24 points on 11-of-18 shooting, and had 11 rebounds, four blocks. Kadence Wats had seven rebounds, Ella Foster five. Miege’s Jayla McClinton had 20 points on 9-of-13 shooting and also had 13 rebounds, three blocks. Mary Grant scored 19 points and had four assists. Finley Lemay had six rebounds, four assists, and Scarlett Singleton had five rebounds.

Class 3A boys at Hutchinson Sports Arena

Championship: Wichita Collegiate 55, Burlington 42 — Sebastian Hines-Turner scored 17 of his game-high 33 points in the third quarter. He shot 11 of 20 for the game, including 3 of 7 from three and finished with five rebounds. AJ Batiste had 12 points, nine rebounds, Shaad Issa had five rebounds. Burlington’s Gaige Navarro had 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Class 3A girls at Hutchinson Sports Arena

Championship: Silver Lake 60, Osage City 44 — Silver Lake’s Kailyn Hanni scored 21 and had nine rebounds, seven assists, Karys Deiter had 19 points, and Savannah Wende scored 10. Jaylie Whitehead had six rebounds, four assists and Paige Heiman had five rebounds. Osage City’s Jayla Jenkins scored 18 points, Emory Speece made 3 of 7 from three and had 15 points, three assists, three steals. Kaelyn Boss had seven rebounds.

Third place: Halstead 56, Holcomb 43 — Halstead had four players in double figures — Onnyka Nedich (14 points), Piper Schroeder (13 points, four assists), Jordy Schroeder (12 points), Addisen Wills (12 points, seven rebounds, five steals). Holcomb’s Jaylee Wickwar had 10 points, six rebounds, Delia Galliart had five assists and 11 rebounds.

Class 2A boys at White Auditorium, Emporia

Championship: Sterling 59, Berean Academy 49 — Sterling’s Boston Ekart scored 25, hit 10 of 16 from the field, and had 10 rebounds. Blake Smith made 3 of 7 from three and had 14 points, Wyatt Newberry had six rebounds, five assists, and Zane Farney five rebounds. Berean Academy’s Wyatt Friesen scored 13, and Emory Kukula and Nolan Sweazy had 12 apiece. Kukula and Jace Unruh each had five rebounds.

Third place: St. Marys 85, Pittsburg Colgan 73 2OT — St. Marys had four players in double figures — Benjamin DeVader (31 points, seven three-pointers, even rebounds, four steals), Killian McCann (19 points, 7 of 8 from the line), Zach Sommars (15 points, three threes, five rebounds, four assists) and Louis Archer (14 points, seven rebounds, three steals). Colgan was led by Will Schremmer (16 points), Gabriel Brown (15 points, three threes), Brady Bettega (13 points, four assists), Brady Crossland (11 points, eight rebounds, four assists), Jayden Brown (11 points) and Brock Radell (five rebounds).

Class 2A girls at White Auditorium, Emporia

Championship: Salina Sacred Heart 43, Ellinwood 34 — It is Sacred Heart’s first title. Sacred Heart’s Adelyn Lee scored 15 points, and Skylar Douglass 10, while Nicole Richards had 10 rebounds and Emerson Lee nine. Ellinwood was led by Julia Schlessiger’s 12 points, 12 rebounds, two blocks, and Mette Maxwell had eight rebounds, four assists, Brynn Widener four steals and Eleanor Joiner 5 rebounds.

Class 1A-I boys at United Wireless Arena, Dodge City

Championship: Beloit-St. John’s 57, South Central 53 — Beloit St. John’s Edward Horinek scored 25 points, hitting 4 of 10 from three. Gabriel Roderick scored 15, and Dominic Eilert had 14 points, seven rebounds. Kaden Rabe had eight assists. South Central’s Eli Girk made 11 of 13 from the field and had 24 points, seven rebounds, and Jack Herd had 19 points, seven rebounds, five assists.

Class 1A-I girls at United Wireless Arena, Dodge City

Championship: Little River 59, Wabaunsee 24 — Little River’s Arika Feldman scored 20 points, hitting three threes. She also had seven rebounds, six blocks. Avery Lafferty had nine rebounds, Adelynn Strecker five assists, and Saelyn Raleigh four assists. Wabaunsee’s Natalia Eubanks had seven rebounds, and Grace Keller had five.

Third place: Centralia 76, Pretty Prairie 16 — Centralia’s Hayden Kramer scored 14, Malayna Becker 12. Tava Gibbs had 10 rebounds, 16 points, and Josie Haverkamp had 13 rebounds, 15 points. Kramer had nine assists, four steals, Becker had seven steals and Cora Thompson had five. Kayleigh Vogl had six rebounds and three blocked shots for Pretty Prairie.

Class 1A-II boys at White Auditorium, Emporia

Championship: Hanover 66, Axtell 60 — Hanover had three in double figures — Cooper Bruna, who had 22 points and three threes, Braylon Meyn with 17 points, 10 rebounds and Jack Bruna, who had 14 points, six rebounds. Axtell’s Logan Sandmann had 22 points and 18 rebounds, five assists. Colin Shaughnessy had 12 points, nine rebounds, and Landon Schmitz scored 12. Wyatt Detwiler had eight rebounds, Joseph Lybarger four assists.

Class 1A-II girls at White Auditorium, Emporia

Championship: Linn 57, Hanover 50 OT — Linn’s Baileigh Peters made 11 of 14 from the line and led all scorers with 22 points, five rebounds. Gretchen Bott had 16 points, three steals, and Sophia Hiltgen had eight rebounds. Hanover’s Drew Bruna scored 19 points with 10 rebounds, and Einslee Stallbaumer had six rebounds.

Third place: Bucklin 54, Hutchinson Central Christian 35 — Buclin’s Tristan Stout scored 13 points and Isabel Bowman had 11 points and seven rebounds. Emmerson Kirk had 11 rebounds, four steals and Karlee Evans seven rebounds. Hutchinson Central Christian’s Harper Newcome scored 10 points, hitting three threes, and had seven rebounds. Reese Swanson and Townsly Huff each had five rebounds.
