Wichita Northwest’s Jerome Henderson – Athlete Spotlight Presented By Supplement World

The Wichita Northwest boys basketball team has sat atop the City League and Class 6A standings for the better part of the season and Jerome Henderson is one of the key reasons why.

The senior guard, who is on track to receive postseason accolades, is averaging 12 points per game for the Grizzlies, who have aspirations of going to the state tournament and doing some damage.

“We all have one goal in common and that’s to win a state title,” Henderson said.

Last season, Henderson averaged only five points per game, so the seven point increase to his average has already fulfilled his goal from the preseason.

“My personal goal is to be better than I was last year, Henderson said. “I stayed consistent in the gym with Coach Daniels to perform at a high level. I mainly wanted to improve on keeping my focus through the season, giving energy and staying engaged in all that we do.”

Before the season started, Henderson was excited to show his growth and development. But most of all he just wanted to get back to what he knows best.

“I was most excited to get back playing with my guys and being around a good coaching staff,” Henderson said.
