Rose Hill senior softball Kenzie Minks is primed to be one of the top players in the AVCTL Division IV this season.
Minks said one her greatest strength is her ability to be the best possible teammate for the Rockets.
“I would say my biggest strength is encouraging my teammates and helping them be the best they can be,” Minks said. “When some of my teammates are down, I try to make them smile and laugh so they can get out of it. Our team’s biggest strength is our chemistry. Even though we have a pretty young team, we get along really well.”
Minks has spent much of her life around the game, building both her skills and passion for softball over the years.
“I’ve been playing softball since I was seven, so about 10 years,” Minks said.
As a senior pitcher, Minks has set both individual and team goals for the upcoming season.
“My personal goal is to have really good pitching stats and hit some home runs,” Minks said. “Our team goal is to grow and improve by focusing on the little things and watching that translate into games. Since we’re a young team, development will be huge for us.”
Minks also hopes her leadership will help younger players stay confident and motivated throughout the season.
“I would say I’m an encouraging leader for my team,” Minks said. “I try to keep everyone positive and motivated.”
