Campus’ Ben Peitz – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Community Bank

The upcoming football season is an opportunity for Ben Peitz of Campus to enjoy one final year with his teammates while building on the progress he has made during his high school career.

“I am most excited about hanging out with all the guys and enjoying my last season of football,” Peitz said.

Peitz has spent the offseason preparing for his senior campaign through a consistent commitment to the weight room. He said he has attended before-school workouts throughout the offseason and has been present at summer weightlifting sessions every day.

“I have been in before-school weights every day the whole season and being at summer weights every day,” he said.

In addition to improving his physical strength, Peitz has focused on becoming a better leader for his team.

“I am working on improving my leadership skills and working on overall lower body strength,” he said.

Peitz has set ambitious goals for his final season. Individually, he hopes to make a significant impact on defense while earning postseason recognition.

“I would love to end the season with a sack a game and a few forced fumbles and a couple TFLs a game,” Peitz said. “I would also love to get first-team honors. I want to end the season with a winning record.”

Last season marked Peitz’s second year playing football and his second consecutive year as a starter. He earned honorable mention all-conference honors on the defensive line after starting every game and showcasing his versatility by playing every position along the defensive front.
