Derby’s Addie Struble – Volleyball Spotlight – Presented by Madrocks

Addie Struble is a defensive specialist for Derby High School’s volleyball team. A
goal for Struble this season has been working on serve receive percentages. As for
the team, Struble is working on helping the team stay focused and being positive
on the court.

Struble shared how Derby had a rough start to the season. As the season has
progressed, the team has got into their groove. The team has been putting up a lot
of W’s and Struble and teammates are hopeful this will continue for the team as
they move into post season play.

During July, the team went to KU camp and was able to do a lot of team bonding
during this camp. “We have a lot of fun there every year and focused on growing
individually and as a group.”

Last season, the serve percentage for Struble was almost 100. This consistency is
something to be proud of. In addition to an almost perfect serving record, Struble
was awarded the most positive player award for the team last season. “I strive to
make my teammate better while still having fun.”

Struble is planning to attend Bulter County Community College to start a degree in
nursing next fall. In the spring, Struble is taking a class to become a CNA to help
prepare for the nursing career. After Bulter, Kansas University is on the horizon to
become a NICU nurse and maybe even a travel nurse for a few years. In addition to
school volleyball, Struble also throws javelin during the spring track season and
plays club volleyball.
