Andover Central’s Hayden Snodgrass – Athlete Spotlight Presented By Shelter Insurance, Jodi Ocadiz

The Andover Central girls basketball team went 17-6 last season and did so by developing a strong bond, one that senior Hayden Snodgrass hopes to continue this season.

“I am most excited to be with my teammates and hangout with them,” Snodgrass said. “Last season we all grew so close, and did everything together. It was so much fun, and at the end of the day that’s what you’re going to remember most. We always had fun going to dinner together.”

Snodgrass is the rare breed of athlete that excels at multiple sports. So while she is busy being one of the top volleyball players for the Jaguars, Snodgrass is still getting shots up for basketball season.

“To me every area of my game can use improvement at any time, because I don’t think anyone should ever settle no matter how good they think they are,” Snodgrass said.

The Jaguars lost many seniors from last season’s state tournament team, so Snodgrass knows she has to assume leadership responsibilities.

“We lost some good leaders last year, and I want the underclassmen to have someone they can go to if they need anything and not be scared of someone older,” Snodgrass said.

Snodgrass has been a part of a state tournament team her previous three years, so going four for four is important to her.

“Going to state has been one of the most fun experiences of my high school career, and being able to go all four years would be just so awesome,” Snodgrass said.
