Wichita Collegiate’s Ali Al-Sukin – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Alexandria Johnson Shelter Insurance

Last season as a junior, Wichita Collegiate offensive lineman Ali Al-Sukin took a significant step forward in his career by earning first team all-league honors.

Al-Sukin has big plans for his 2025 campaign that he hopes leads to even bigger accolades.

“My individual goals would be to be all state first team on both offense and defense and to lead the defensive line in sacks,” Al-Sukin said.

But in order to accomplish those goals, Al-Sukin knew there was a fundamental part to his game that needed improvement.

I would like to improve on my footwork for the upcoming season, because being a linemen is a lot of footwork,” Al-Sukin said. “During the offseason I was going to camps and doing lots of footwork drills.”

Now entering his final season with the Spartans, Al-Sukin plans to soak up every last moment in hopes that it leads to a deep playoff run in November.

I am most excited about getting to get out on the field one last time and play the game I’ve been playing my whole life,” Al-Sukin said. “Our team goals would be to continue getting better each week and never losing sight of what every team truly wants to do to end their season.”
