Newton’s Jonathan Hill – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Dustin Remme State Farm

The Newton football team struggled to a two-win season in 2024, so Jonathan Hill and his fellow Railers made it a priority to become better teammates to each other.

“I am hoping to have a stronger bond with the team as we have had group hangouts and went on camping trips to strengthen our relationship,” Hill said. “I am also looking forward to bonding with my team and coaches with hopes of having a better season than last year.”

Hill, who plays wide receiver for Newton, worked on specific areas that are necessary for him to improve on his second team all-league honors from last season. In 2024, he had 22 receptions for 240 yards and two touchdowns.

“I have been active with speed and agility training along with lifting and seven-on-seven against teams in the area,” Hill said.

With his work in the offseason, not just individual but as a team as well, Hill has to goals he wants to achieve this season.

“A personal goal I have is to achieve first team honors and for the team to win a playoff game,” Hill said.
