Senior Ailie Tabor is preparing for a meaningful final season with the Andover Central Jaguars softball team, bringing experience, leadership, and determination to the field. Tabor is set to play a key role for the Jags this season as a third baseman and outfielder.

As the team’s only senior, Tabor understands the responsibility that comes with her role. She is eager to help guide a talented roster while setting the tone through her work ethic and attitude. “Being the only senior on the team, I definitely see my responsibility to step up as a leader this year. I’m excited to lead by example and hopefully be someone the lowerclassmen can look up to.”

For Tabor, the biggest motivation heading into the season is simply being back with her teammates. “Getting back on the field with the team is the most important thing to me,” she said. “I love all the girls, and being with teammates who are just as invested as I am is a great feeling.”

Tabor’s softball journey hasn’t been without adversity. During her sophomore season, she suffered a torn shoulder muscle that limited her ability to throw. Regardless, Ailie used that opportunity to focus on improving at the plate. The hard work paid off, as she earned AVCTL Division II First Team Designated Hitterhonors in 2024. “As much as I was disappointed in my inability to field, I feel I showed up as a hitter and produced for my team.” Tabor has also been named 5A Second Team All-State Utilityand has received Honorable Mention All-League at Third Base.

In addition to softball, Ailie competes in bowling, where she has earned AVCTL Division II Second Team All-League honors, in addition to helping her team finish third in league competition.

Tabor carries a 4.167 GPA and a 28 ACT score, balancing athletics with strong academics. After graduation, she plans to join the United States Marine Corps as a communications strategist.

Looking ahead to her final season, Tabor hopes the Jaguars can reach new heights. “I’d like to see us compete at the state level this year,” she said. “We have some great talent; we just need to put it together.”
