As she steps into a leadership role for her senior season, Buhler’s Aubrey Ewing has set both personal and team oriented goals for the season ahead.
“Some goals that I have for this season is being a good leader since I’m now a senior, getting closer with my teammates, and becoming the best bowler I can,” Ewing said. “I would like to bowl at least two clean games in a meet this year and beat my high score of 222.”
One meet in particular always stands out, offering both home town comfort and team-building moments for the Crusaders.
“I am always excited to bowl in the Crusader Classic because that is our home tournament and we always seem to do well,” Ewing said. “I also think it is a great time for us to grow as a team.”
Looking back, Ewing’s best memories come from earlier years on the team and the people who shaped her along the way.
“The most memorable moment for me was most definitely state my sophomore year,” Ewing said. “It was my first year bowling and I had an amazing group of seniors who led us to win state. Another thing for me is all the moments I’ve had with my two amazing coaches, Skip and Shelby. I would not be the bowler I am today without them and I am so thankful for all they do for us.”
With her high school career nearing its end, Ewing already has her path planned for after graduation.
“My future plans are to go to Hutchinson Community College to get my Associates of Science,” Ewing said. “I will then continue my education at Fort Hays State University to do the Ultrasound program.”
