Riley Stoll of Andale has been putting in extra work this offseason, focusing on both skill development and time in the alley. Stoll was a first team all-league bowler for Andale last season.
“I’ve been preparing by getting private lessons with a coach and making sure I get into the alley whenever I can,” Stoll said. “My main weakness right now is my ball speed. I really want to improve that and get it higher.”
With goals set high, Stoll has focused on growing her lane knowledge and chasing championship success.
“My main goal is to gain more knowledge about the lanes themselves,” Stoll said. “For example, learn the different lane conditions and how to account for them while bowling. Also just to improve as a whole. I also have my mind on another state championship and possibly individual champ.”
The excitement of the season floods back in as the team bonds start and grow, and Stoll is ready to lean on it throughout the season.
“I’m most excited to get back with my team and do the thing we all love,” Stoll said. “There is great chemistry between us and it feels like a part of me is gone when we aren’t bowling together.”
Some matchups already have Stoll looking forward to testing the team’s skills in hopes of a big win.
“I’m definitely excited to take on Central Christian Academy,” Stoll said. “They are a very great team but we only see them during regionals. Two years ago they won regionals, last year we won regionals so it’ll be very interesting as to what happens this year.”
