With a handful of experienced and talented track and field athletes, Andover Central often makes a name for themselves at the KSHSAA State Meet every season.

The Jaguars are always looking to bring home some hardware, and it isn’t that much different for a competitive junior on the team.

Andover Central’s Ethan Armendariz knows what it takes to make himself seen, and the work on and off the track hasn’t slowed down.

The senior took second in the long jump, eighth in the triple jump and tenth in the high jump at the Andover regional last season. He did this after winning the long jump event at the AVCTL Division II meet.

At the state meet Armendariz fell just short of taking home first place, and this year he’s back for some much wanted revenge.

Making it to finals and taking second has only fueled Armendariz’s drive even more the long track season ahead. Be on the lookout for this driven senior, as Armendariz plans to bring it all the way home for the Jaguars this June.
