Even though he was an honorable mention all-league wide receiver in 2024, Andover’s Ben Reynolds knew there was one attribute of a receiver that he had to improve on for the upcoming season.
“One thing I wanted to improve this season is my speed,” Reynolds said. “I worked hard in the winter and spring with Coach (Rashad) Daniels to make it happen.”
Reynolds admitted that his stat line was not what he wanted last season and that is one of his priorities in 2025.
“Some goals I have for the season is to improve my stats from last year,” Reynolds said. I didn’t have the most impressive stat line but I’m looking to get more receiving yards, more targets, and more touchdowns which shouldn’t be a problem with how the team is shaping up.”
With all of his offseason training, which was extensive, Reynolds is going to look like a different player for the Trojans.
“I have been in the weight room this offseason gaining almost 40 pounds since the start of last season,” Reynolds said. “Like I said, I have been training with Coach Daniels to keep the speed, and I have been to the Lindenwood, Valparaiso, Ball State, and Indiana State camp to get prepared for anything I might see this season.”
Andover was one of the surprise teams in Class 5A last season and Reynolds is looking forward to getting back to work for his senior campaign and continue the Trojans ascent with second-year head coach Jamie Cruce.
“I’m most excited for Friday nights with my boys, playing some football in front of my town and ringing the stadium bell,” Reynolds said.
