Winning one state championship is hard, but winning two back-to-back is even harder. Now, after winning those two, the Conway Springs Cardinals have a huge target on their backs as they are on the quest for three in a row.
Senior quarterback, running back, and safety Logan Osner is one of the guys who returns and knows exactly what he needs to do to win another championship.
“At Conway Springs, we treat every game like it’s the state championship,” Osner said. “I do my part by pushing my teammates, keeping everyone focused, and showing up with the same intensity whether it’s a practice or the playoffs. It’s all about accountability, effort, and keeping our bond strong as a team.”
Osner has been playing football since seventh grade and has always made it his job to be a game changer, even when things didn’t go his way.
“I’ve always tried to be someone my team can count on,” Osner said. “I work hard to learn quickly, stay coachable, and do whatever’s asked of me—whether that’s leading on the field or supporting from the sideline. I try to bring steady effort, a team-first attitude, and a real love for the game every time I step out there.”
The senior has set himself up to potentially play football at the next level, but doesn’t know what he wants to do just quite yet.
“I am not sure yet if I’ll play at the next level — it really depends on how this year goes,” Osner said. “I’m focused on making the most of my senior season, and if opportunities come, I’ll definitely consider them. If I don’t play, I’ll still carry the lessons football has taught me into whatever’s next.”
