For some, a state championship would be an extraordinary thing. But for Maize High School senior Kinslea Jones, this is just another day at the office.
The senior won her fourth straight state championship while leading the Eagles to a fourth place finish.
“It was such an honor to see Kinslea win her fourth consecutive state title,” head coach Ben Harlow said. “I think it is one of the greatest accomplishments for a high school athlete. (Kinslea) has always been a tireless worker on her golf game. She and her family have made a tremendous effort.”

Once again the Kapaun Mt. Carmel Crusaders came out on top, winning their fifth state championship in a row.
“Winning the state championship feels fantastic,” head coach Marie Thomas said. “It’s a feeling which never gets old; and for it to be our fifth championship in a row is just amazing. To see all the hard work the girls put into the season come to fruition, makes our coaching staff so proud.”
On top of that, the Crusaders also had an individual champion, in Ximena Sarinana who defended her state championship.
“To see Ximena win the individual title again is awesome,” Thomas said. “This young lady works so hard on her game and shows so much humility; she is well deserving of this achievement.”
Class 4A
Wellington finished second behind state champion Topeka Hayden with a score of 713.
The Crusaders had a lot of good scores including one from junior Taryn Viramontes who finished sixth.
