For the best programs, the better the trenches are, the more successful the team is. Wichita Northwest is consistently really good just because of this.
Dustin Cochran is a senior at Wichita Northwest and has already stamped himself as one of the best lineman in the state.
Cochran has been playing football since he was in third grade and has grown up to be a 6’5 270lb monster who boasts a 6’10 wingspan.
Now as a senior, he has plans to leave even more of a mark.
“My personal goals are to make first team all-state,” Cochran said. “And my team goal is to win a state championship which has been the goal for a long time for our 2026 class.”
There are huge goals to fill, but after the work the team has put in during the summer and the winter offseason, their goal has become more and more realistic.
“I will help lead us to a state championship by bringing the experience of being a senior and also as many know the game is won in the trenches and at Northwest we have one of the best lines in state and we are ready to make the push for state,” Cochran said.
For a lot of players this is it, but when you go to Wichita Northwest, you always have a better chance of playing at the next level, and Cochran is no different.
“I plan on playing at the University of South Dakota for my college career,” Cochran said. “I chose them as they are an established program who can win and develop me as a player and a man.”
