South Haven’s BreckenHutsler is excited not only to grow as a player but also to strengthen the bonds with her teammates as the season gets underway.

“The thing I am most looking forward to this upcoming season is to not only grow as a player but as a teammate too,” Hutsler said. “Every season is a new beginning and as a senior, I’m excited to see how much more I can improve my skills. I’m also very excited to continue to build a bond with some of the most amazing teammates I have ever had. I do think the thing I am most looking forward to out of everything though, is competing and being able to represent my school and community, and use the skills we gain during practice during a game.”

This year, Hutsler is focused on improving her hitting while continuing to refine her overall game.

“I think the biggest thing I want to improve on this season is my hitting,” Hutsler said. “While I like where I’m at right now, there’s always room for improvement. To help me reach my goal, I did the work and soft toss during the offseason.”

Hutsler also has goals for both his personal growth and her team’s performance.

“My goal for myself this year is to improve my mental toughness,” she said. “The goal I have for our team as a whole is to constantly be supporting each other and building stronger communication on the field.”

After high school, Hutsler plans to continue his education while pursuing a degree in agribusiness.

“My plans after high school are to attend Butler Community College in El Dorado and pursue a degree in Agribusiness,” Hutsler said.
