Class 6A girls at Koch Arena
BV Northwest 54, Wichita East 49 — Regan Becker hit 3 of 4 free throws in the final 12 seconds — getting her own rebound after missing the fourth — to seal the win. BV Northwest had a 47-40 lead with 4:12 to go, but Wichita East chipped away, getting to within 51-49 on a bucket by Miya Respress, who went to the line after being fouled. Her made free throw was waved off for a lane violation. Becker scored a game-high 23, hitting 9 of 18 from the field and finishing with 16 rebounds. Molly Numrich scored 15, hitting 3 of 4 threes and 5 of 8 from the field, and Isabella Ellis scored 11 and was 3 of 4 from three. Numrich had five rebounds, Rylie Edwards eight and Kyra Becker had four steals. East’s Jada Davis and Respress scored 15 points apiece. Respress had nine rebounds, Quinacy Galbert four assists, Davis four steals, A’Myiah Kates four steal, five rebounds.
SM South 69, Derby 57 — SM South’s Micah Kirkwood and Laila Berndt each scored 13. Ella Jack had eight rebounds, and Kylenna Potts and Berndt had six rebounds and five steals apiece. Derby’s Maya Harris hit 3 of 4 from three and had 11 points, Siaunna Carter 10 points, four steals and three assists. Macayla Askew had 11 rebounds, six assists and Karlie Demel seven rebounds.
Class 5A boys at Koch Arena
Kapaun 54, Topeka Seaman 52 — Topeka Seaman trailed by 18 points with 2:20 remaining in the third and got to within 46-41 on a Kaevon Bonner three. Seaman took advantage of missed Kapaun free throws and had the ball with 21 seconds remaining and trailing by two. Kapaun’s Cole Rapp scored 18 points, hitting 4 of 9 from three, and Rocco Keller scored 12 and had nine rebounds. Jordan Maingu had nine rebounds and Blaise Dalian had four assists. Bonner led all scorers with 27 points, hitting 13 of 13 rom the line. Griffin Zuniga had 13 points, six rebounds.
Bonner Springs 79, Topeka West 61 — Bonner Springs’ Kelan Gruver made 10 of 15 shots — 4 of 8 from three — and had a game-high 32 points with seven rebounds, eight assists. Jaiden Jones scored 20 with five rebounds, hitting 9 of 10 shots, and Nathanael Ferrell scored 17 points with eight rebounds. Topeka West’s Prince Lassiter scored 21 points and had seven rebounds, and Gad Munganga had 15 points.
Class 4A girls at Hutchinson Sports Arena
Topeka Hayden 48, Wellington 45 — Topeka Hayden’s Hailey Schmidtlein scored 10 and had nine rebounds, Kadence Watts and Emberly Connell each had seven rebounds, Ella Foster hit 3 of 4 from three. Blakely Walter had six steals and six rebounds. Wellington was led by Dru Zeka, who scored 15 points and had eight rebounds, and Kirstyn Gregory, who had 14 points, seven rebounds. Lyndi Barton had nine rebounds, Vivienne Wright and Cruz Cornejo four steals apiece.
Bishop Miege 59, Rock Creek 43 — Miege had three players in double figures — Jayla McClinton (16 points, eight rebounds), Mary Grant (15 points, five rebounds) and Scarlett Singleton (15 points, 5 of 7 from three). Rock Creek’s Kylee Frazee scored 22 with five rebounds, and Aurora Pitzer had 14 points. Rylie Friess had six rebounds, Luci Martinie five assists.
Class 3A boys at Hutchinson Sports Arena
Wichita Collegiate 57, Silver Lake 43 — Collegiate finished the game by outscoring Silver Lake 7-0. Sebastian Hines-Turner led Collegiate with 22 points, eight rebounds, six steals and five assists. Kamari Jennings had 14 points, four assists, AJ Batiste 10 points, five rebounds and Shaad Issa had six rebounds. Silver Lake’s Dayne Johnson had 14 points, six rebounds, Hunter Rooks had 13 points and Grady Bergmann had 12 rebounds.
Burlington 77, Hesston 76 3OT — Burlington’s Troy Over hit the game-winning shot as time expires in the third overtime. Over finished with 16 points, and Gaige Navarro had 20 points, three blocks, eight rebounds, and Mason Collins 16 points, eight assists. Hesston’s Ty Unruh scored 22 points and had five rebounds, six assists. Drew Bartell scored 15 and had six rebounds and Gavin Larson had five assists.
Class 2A girls at White Auditorium, Emporia
Ellinwood 50, Eureka 47 — Ellinwood’s Mette Maxwell scored 17 points, hitting 5 of 11 from three, Brynn Widener had 11 points, nine rebounds, and Julia Schlessiger had 11 rebounds. Brenna Rucker led Eureka with 16 points, 13 rebounds, four steals, Ellianna Coulter had 14 points and Britta Mongeau 13.
Salina Sacred Heart 69, Moundridge 56 — Sacred Heart’s Adelyn Lee scored 27, hitting 5 of 7 from three and 10 of 10 from the line, and Skylar Douglas scored 23 with five threes. Nicole Richards had seven rebounds, Emerson Lee seven assists. Moundridge’s Hattie Hecox scored 16 and was 3 of 6 from three, Cammi Unruh had 11 points, six rebounds. Halle Hecox had seven rebounds, four assists, Macy Kaminkow seven rebounds.
Class 1A-I boys at United Wireless Arena, Dodge City
South Central 49, Central Plains 30 — Jack Herd scored 21, hitting 9 of 13 shots for South Central, and also had 14 rebounds, four blocked shots. Eli Girk scored 11. Central Plains’ Camden Stiles scored 11 and Brodie Crites had five rebounds.
Beloit St. John’s-Tipton 61, Norwich 53
Class 1A-II boys at White Auditorium, Emporia
Axtell 84, Cunningham 40 — Axtell’s Colin Shaughnessy scored 22 points, hitting six three-pointers, Joseph Lybarger scored 16 on 3-of-5 shooting from three and had four steals, Logan Sandmann had 14 points, 11 rebounds, and Wyatt Detweiler scored 13 points and had six assists. Landon Schmitz had five assists. Cunningham’s Kendall Rogers scored 13 and Dylan Halderson had 12. Skyler Thimesch had five rebounds.
Hanover 94, Lebo 42 — Ten players scored for Hanover, with Tanner Bruna (23 points, eight rebounds), Cooper Bruna (21 points) and Braylon Meyn (10 points, 10 rebounds, six assists) leading the way. Lebo’s Colby Fehr had 11 points, 11 rebounds, and Jae’Mykel Hall scored 11.
