As her final high school season approaches, Wichita North’s Ana Amador is focused on making the most of her last opportunity while helping elevate her team.
“I’m most excited about ending my high school softball career with a bang,” Amador said. “Being able to lead my team to what is hopefully our best season of my four years at North is super exciting.”
Amador’s year-round commitment to athletics has helped prepare her both physically and mentally for the season ahead.
“I play summer ball year-round with the Wichita Rebels and I wrestle for North High,” Amador said. “Both provide amazing conditioning and mental challenges.”
Leadership is a major emphasis for Amador in her senior season, as she looks to take on a more vocal role on the field.
“I want to improve my field presence and use my leadership on the field,” Amador said. “Prior to the school season, I worked with my summer team and used my voice as much as I could.”
While team success remains important, Amador is equally motivated by the impact she can make on those around her.
“My goal for the season is to make a lasting impression on my community and North High,” Amador said. “Empowering my community through my sports and involvement is my greatest passion. Otherwise, I want to give my younger teammates the season experience that I had coming to North, a season full of fun and camaraderie that makes memories to last.”
Looking beyond high school, Amador plans to continue her education while staying connected to her community.
“I plan to pursue a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Unified Education at WSU and work at my old elementary school as a special education para during college,” Amador said.
